PDF FILE: Tutor's feedback on assignment 3
I have to say that the PART 3 was very exciting. I really liked theory of colors. I played with colors quit a long time. Before that experience I mostly liked only graphic designs which were mainly build on white background. I think my view about colors after that part changed. If the colors are used in right way they revive design. I found out I like designs where are few colors and it will be in my focus to use few colors for my designs.
I really enjoyed the visual dynamics with the bulb, block of color and sign. I was really amazed we can flat 2D space turn by relation between objects into 3D space. Also we can help to build 3D space colors which is another thing which I want to explore much more. Illustrator is really helpful tool to build shapes which you can reshape after, recolor, rebuild whole work in easy way. I love building idea by curving shapes (landscapes), especially the process when something unexpected reveals.
I was struggling with abstract cities. It was the most difficult exercise for me. Sometimes I did not know what to do. I should make another abstract exercise in future myself.
In part 3 I mainly used Illustrator except for Photomontage where I used Photoshop.
Feedback on my assignment 3: I made a poster about celebrating color but main problem which I have is that I do not like it. Even when I made new final work still it looks that it is not still finished. I think I was too worried about the outcome that ended on half way.
Feedback for tutor feedback: I am always glad to have feedback from educated person. Especially comments about abstract exercises which I could made in more simplicity way. As well as my typography needs to be enhanced. The feedback on final work gave me idea where maybe is problem that I am not satisfied with the work. The notion that yellow and violet are not so calm is probably about thing which disturbing me in that piece. My tutor gave me also advice to focus or more explore the curving pattern which I used to express landscapes and I think also there should be a potential here about simplicity expressing things. As my tutor wrote me and I agree with him my future exploration will be in simplicity 1950's and modernist patterns 1960's, I really like this ages. I also got some recommendation, so I already bought film Helvetica, Objectified, genius of design and Andrzej Klimowski books.
