Exercise: Magazine pages: select a title and images

I have chosen a title World around my world. Here are starting designs. I used 20 grid field and I tried to keep the design simply and clear. I think that both The golden section and the forest work well. The right layout has everything within the grid but the space under the sign My things somehow broke it. I like the combination of Franklin gothic (I found it nice at Time magazine) and the Helvetica as main text. When I changed the Helvetica to a serif fonts (I tried Dutch) the design lost the simplicity! In that exercise I was strong influenced by the book Grid systems.
