Exercise: giving information: step by step process
1. I made a picture which should simple represent a a scheme of the spray booth:
2. I used Illustrator to draw the scheme of spray booth. I did not want to use the car as the painted product because it was as cliché in our industry, so I let the booths free. I put there a spray robot but somehow the overall balance is wrong, so I put there second robot. I add the arrows as flow of air.
3. As I was not satisfied with the coloring of picture I thought that the booth can be fill with a color. I change the white an a neutral gray and kicked out the black one. I tried here put there another color but it did not work. I was not satisfied with the shape of the booth and representation of the filtration steps. I thought that the best way would be to focus only on the process not the shape of booth. I changed the scheme of the spray booth into a narrow canal. I also changed the representation of products and I thought complementary colors suit here well. The spray robots were not important to transfer an information, so I cut them. As product I put there only a square. My idea was to let it simple.
4. The picture was too much white and I like the white which let the design breathing but there I thought a background color could change it totally. And it looked very fine for me. I put there some another symbols of filters and on the bottom I put illustration of a tree because the main issue to filter the spray booths is to protect environment. I cut out the arrow coming back to the inlet because also it is not important information. Instead I added the arrow with descriptions of the filtration steps. It looks much more better.
5. In the final picture I added the sign and the waves to inform that the last step is for removing the volatile agents.
