Exercise: giving information: my work

I misunderstood the exercise giving information, so I am trying to make it again. I choose my workplace as immediate surrounding. I think that the design is too angular and next time will be better use also curved shapes.

Here is step by step process:

3. I chose triad colors to distinguish different work places. Blue - administration, red - manufacture, green - stock.

4. I started with visualization of main processes of manufacture. I put simple vector graphic on raw materials in stock and named the places.

5. The "traced ground" of work has started disturbing me somehow so I deleted it and I have started to build manufacture processes.

6. The triangles appeared to me too sharpness within the whole design, so I decided to change them to something more smoothness. I think it looks more better.

7. The process needed to be more visible. I used a circle with arrow but in design in step 6 the process was not right for me. I decided to express the process by putting components which are used in process on the circle. I filled the stock with components which are need to finish the whole manufacture process from cutting material to package them.

8. I thought that the circle for expressing the process was not enough. I put in the circle illustration of each process. I turn off the layer with texts. I thought that the illustration gives clear means of each process and needed be supported by texts.

9. (1.11.2011) I added process of administration and expedition and of coarse I wanted there customer. I visualized them as order sheets which are connected to administration which gave plan to cutting process. I also changed color of final products. I turned on the names of the places because there are the Hallway, Toilets, Lift and I do not want to wasted time with a visualization.

10. (6.11.2011) I did not like the unbalanced feel of the design here. Mainly the "customers" was out of a grid, so I moved them on right side. I did not like also the color of the final color. I played with colors here a lot and for final version I came back to a white color. I played with color of truck but still I was not satisfied with it.

11. (6.11.2011) Here I changed the visualization of truck. I used some free silhouette vectors of trucks which I found on Internet. The change helped a lot I think. I connected the customers with truck to express the final process when the good is delivered to customers.

12. (6.11.2011) Last final treatments: I added the frame with number of employee.

13. (6.11.2011) I was not satisfied with the trucks. Why there are three trucks came to my mind. Two trucks has loaded produced goods by ourselves and one has loaded with raw materials. Why 2 and 1? I thought that it will be better to reach balance if the design have 1 truck with our produced goods and second with raw materials. It built also a place for description place on the right.
